Events

Over the past 30+ years we have taken part in a variety of fetes, Pep Arts Pageants and shows across Norfolk. We also had the pleasure of taking three classes to take part in The Young Performers Show, at Her Majesty’s Theatre London, in 2002.

Here is some of what we have achieved over the years within our dance school.

We have been taking part in the Taverham Fayre performances, for the past 18 years and will contine to do so for the next coming years. We choose a variety of dances to perform to the public. This is an oppertunity for our students to develop confidence and experiences in front of a smaller crowd.

In 2018, our Saturday seniors/students dancers took part in a charity fundraising event for Nicky’s Foundation.

Nicky’s Foundation is a collaboration between Nicky, a UK based occupational therapist and Thomson, a Cameroon based social worker. Nicky first visited Cameroon in 2007 when she was invited to spend time with a friend and fellow occupational therapist who was leading a community based rehabilitation project in the area. It was during this visit that Nicky met Thomson, a member of the rehabilitation team based with the project and by working together and combining their professional skills and knowledge they have created Nicky’s Foundation. Nicky and Thomson have been working together since 2007 and through a combination of fundraising in the UK and assessing the needs of individuals in South West Cameroon they are able to change the lives of vulnerable children and people with disabilities

In 2010, 2006, 2003, and 1999 we took groups of our dance students aged from six years and upwards to perform a varity of dances to the public, for The United Teachers of Dance Show held at The Theatre Royal, in Norwich.

In 2004,  we took part in the 13th Cromer and North Norfolk festival of music, dance, and speech. Cromer and North Norfolk festival of music, dance, and speech is affilliated to the british federation of festivals for music, dance and speech and is a nominated festival for all of England dance competition. It is a registered charity.

We entered a number of entries for tap, and modern.

In 2002 , we took four classes (Saturday and Thursdays Inters and seniors and Thurdays juniors) to take part in The Young Performers show at Her Majesty’s Theatre. It was a wonderful oppertunity to perform at one of London’s leading theatres, home to the famous ‘Phantom of Opera.’ A number of schools were invited from around the United of Kingdom.

Our dance school danced to ‘It’s raining men,’ this was a combination dance of tap and modern, ‘Any dream will do’ was an acro routine, ‘Go go Joseph’ and ‘Viva La Feista,’ were modern routines.

We have taken part in fundraising event for The British Heart Foundation at Britainnia Pier, in Great Yarmouth dance show in 2000-2004.

For ten consecutive years, we took part in the Priscilla Bacon Lodge fetes, Unthank Road. The Priscilla Bacon Centre for Specialist Palliative Care Services provides specialist advice and support for any patients with life limiting illness and those close to them.

In the earlier years we took part in many dance Pageants held around Norfolk. These took place at The Blyth Jex, The Talk, and many different places around Norwich.
