Exams.
We hold exam sessions throughout the year. This gives our students opportunity to gain confidence and develop. No child is put into an exam that they are not capable of achieving. No student has to participate in an exam, but it is an important part of their training and experiences. Our examining body is United Teachers of Dance. Prior to an exam a student will be given a letter stating which exam they will be doing, and which items of uniform are required. No items of jewellery allowed to be worn except a wedding band. No nail varnish is to be worn and only minimal make up allowed.
Ballet
Girls: Purple lycra dance leotard, Purple Lyrca dance skirt, Ballet socks, Ballet shoes. (With elastic sown in.) Hair is to be in a mid-bun with a hair net and no fringes. Purple Lyrca dance hairband held on with Hair grips. Level 3 and above: Purple lycra leotard, Georgette skirts, ballet tights, Ballet shoes. Hair is to be in a mid-bun with a hair net and no fringes. Purple Lyrca dance hairband held on with Hair grips.
Boys: Direct Dance Company t-shirt, Black lycra dance shorts, White ankle socks, Black Ballet shoes. Hair to be tidy and out eyes.
Tap
Girls: Purple lycra dance leotard, Purple lycra dance skirt, Plain white ankle socks with no frills, and Black tap shoes. Hair is to be in a bun. with no fringes. Purple lycra dance hairband held in with hair grips.
Boys: Direct Dance Company t-shirt, Black lycra dance shorts, White ankle socks, Black tap shoes. Hair to be tidy and out eyes
Modern
Girls: Purple lycra dance leotard, and hair is to be in two French plaits with no fringes and a purple lycra dance hairband with hair grips. No footwear is required Level one and above: Purple lycra dance leotard, Purple lycra dance leggings and hair is to be in two French plaits with no fringes and a purple lycra dance hairband with hair grips. No footwear is required.

Arcobatics

Medals and Adjudication.
The following year after our show, our students will get an opportunity to perform their dances again in front of an adjudicator. We understand that it can be difficult to afford to pay to take part in all their dancers, but we ask that all students participate to show support towards their class.
Prior to the medals a letter will be sent home stating which costumes and footwear is required. No jewellery (except wedding bands) to be worn and show make up is required for Inters, seniors, students. (Blue eye shadow, Black mascara, red lipstick)
